Westbury church records include an entry for the baptism of Samuel Callaway, a son of John and Mary Calloway (spelling as in record). Samuel, at the age of one year and three quarters, was baptized on August 14, 1785. [Westbury, England, Church Records.] He married Susannah Butler on March 31, 1803, in Westbury. Thomas Cooke, Curate, performed the marriage. [Westbury Church Records.] Samuel's trade was clothier, as noted in the Upper Meeting's baptismal records for Samuel's daughters Susannah and Mary. [Westbury, England, Independent Church Upper Meeting Records, January 17, 1813.] His death certificate shows that he became a farmer in later life and died on March 09, 1863, on High Street in Malmesbury. [Certified Copy of an Entry of Death of Samuel Callaway (Register of Deaths, 1863, in Malmesbury West, Wiltshire County, England; copy issued on April 04, 2005, at the General Register Office), DYA 631546.]
